Josey Hung(1977)
Since childhood, Josey Hung was educated by professional art institutions and later graduated from National Taiwan Normal University, with a bachelor degree in Fine Arts. In 2014, she founded “Show Art Gallery”—a charity gallery in Shilin District, Taipei to promote art. Inviting artists to raise funds for the disadvantaged in the society, it has become a platform for art and charity.
Taking flowers, leaves, light and feathers as themes, her own creations reflect both the fragility of life and fragrance of blessed joy through creations, imagery and reality. She is especially fond of describing the vibrant flowers, reflecting the abundance of life, which is all based on the delightful relationship between people and the tolerant forgiveness from God.
By contributing to charitable medical care with her husband, she gradually understood the fairness of the blessings while she is taking care of tens of thousands of sick children every year, no matter how different people are. Because of this, Show Art Garden is not only the land of art by the pen, but a way in which she shows gratitude for encountering all the joy.
In 2022, Josey Hung began to create a series called Rainbow, which symbolizes the solemn promises made by her to God and the harmony between people, as well as between people and the world.
All thank God for his gift and protection for everyone.

Show Art Gallery—Charity and Art
As the founder, Josey Hung has been in contact with the medical field of disadvantaged groups and sick children for a long time. That’s when she noticed that people have a limited vision of sympathy for the disadvantaged in the society, by lack of attention to the strong creative energy from autistic children and the fact that art creation of people with Down’s syndrome is even more vivid and touching. Equally applying to naïve artists, without proficient skills, the combination of rustic brushstrokes and heartfelt devotion is always more moving. This is the reason why the charity-oriented gallery “Show Art Gallery” was established in 2014.
The goal is to think outside the box of unilaterally giving “help” to people who are of low position. Instead, it is about how to enable those who need assistance to be affirmed by others for their creations and talents; furthermore, to enhance the sense of personal value and control of life, so as to have a complete life without regrets. Show Art Gallery takes no advantage of compassion, but the beautiful results and stories that originate from lives. “Buying a painting is to support art” is what Josey Hung sincerely believe, for the same reason, she hopes collectors support a family with potential, a naïve artist, instead of the increase in price generated by paintings in the future.
Show Art Gallery, as a social enterprise and a non-commercial, charitable gallery, is aiming to both provide professional exhibition resources for Taiwanese naïve artists (amateurs, elderly, and people with cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, ADHD, or intellectual disability, etc.), and cooperate with well-known artists to hold art exhibitions. Part of the income from the exhibitions will go to charity. With 6-8 exhibitions with certain themes yearly, more than one million Taiwanese dollars has been donated to causes such as autism, Down’s syndrome, environmental organization, home service for post-coma unresponsiveness (PCU), victims of natural disaster and sexual assault/abuse, as well as physical disabilities, mental illness and others.
Aside from exhibitions, the gallery also has oil painting classes for adult to interact with the community and an art therapy program for the elderly at the Beihu Branch of National Taiwan University Hospital since 2018. In addition, exhibitions at, for example, Art Gallery inside MRT Zhongshan station, Art Gallery inside Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Capital Business Center and nearby institutions well connect the public by pure beauty and kindness, and promote the idea that “Buying a painting is to support art”.
